Looking for new books?
Are you looking for new books? You can browse the shelves of new books in our library, see our catalog's home page, or search the catalog for new items.
Showcases of new items are available on the home page of our catalog.
For more specific results:
1. Go to our catalog.
2. Depending on the size of your browser window, you will either see "Other Searches" or a "+" to the right of the search box. Click on "Other Searches" or the + symbol and then choose "Advanced Search" from the options presented.
3. The second line under Advanced Search allows you to search for the time frame you would like to see. In the drop down menu, you can choose to see items added to our catalog in the last week, last month, or up to the last 24 months.
4. You may choose options in the Filters section to narrow your search.

The Libraries options will allow you to choose sections in our library:
Adult
Juvenile - everything in our picture book, early reader, and juvenile (chapter book) sections
Young Adult - everything in our teen section
Juvenile nonfiction - nonfiction books and DVDs in our Early and Juvenile sections
Videos - all DVDs
Adult nonfiction
Easy - everything in our E section: picture books, early readers, early nonfiction
Formats are general formats, e.g. DVDs
Material types are specific to our library, e.g. fiction DVDs and nonfiction DVDs
Audience levels will result in a less complete search than the Libraries option.
A children's book may be cataloged as Juvenile, Preschool, Primary, Preadolescent, or Adolescent - and only one of those choices. If you search for Juvenile, you'll only get those cataloged specifically as Juvenile; you won't get those cataloged as Preschool or Primary. If you opt to use this search, check as many boxes as could be applicable.
You can also set an alert to notify you when new items with the criteria you set are added to our catalog - your favorite author, new books in a series, or books on a subject. See here for more information.

Activity Logs
We
have Activity Logs to provide you with suggestions for reading-related
activities through the end of the summer. Read with someone, read
somewhere you don't usually read, read a different type of book than
you usually read, try something (origami, drawing, sign language,
etc.) from a book, exercise your mind (with a puzzle, word search,
etc.), or exercise your body (play a sport, ride your bicycle, etc.)
Pick up an Activity Log from the brochure rack in front of the reference desk. Complete any 12 activities and return your form to the library by September 3 to receive a prize and enter the prize drawing.
