Summer Reading Program

Join us this summer to read or listen to books, earn prizes, and attend programs at the library.  All children are invited to participate.  See information about our teen (6th - 12th grade) program here.

Friday, June 13 is the first day to pick up reading logs from the library and register for the Summer Reading Program.  Sparkles the Clown will be at the library from 10:30 to 12:30 creating balloon animals.  We'll hand out helium balloons the rest of the day.

Tuesday, June 24 - "Reading is Magic" by Dynamic West Assemblies

This program for children of all ages will be held at 10:30 A.M. in the Senior and Community Activity Center.

Tuesday, July 8 - Spectacular Science:  Liquid Nitrogen by Larry Biederman

This program for children of all ages will be held at 10:30 A.M. in the Senior and Community Activity Center. Liquid nitrogen is an extremely cold substance that causes exciting interactions including shattering, spinning, and erupting.  We'll explore what happens to many different objects when immersed in liquid nitrogen.  

 

Tuesday,  August 12 - "Joel's ScienceRific Comedy Show" by Joel Tacey

This program for children of all ages will be held at 10:30 A.M. in the Senior and Community Activity Center. Discover a secret lab and help Joel find his missing sidekick, Maze the Mouse, as Joel brings to life eight exciting books in this program of comedy, magic, and music.

Programs throughout the summer are held during the day, in the evenings, and on a Saturday.

National Library Week

April 13 - 19 is National Library Week.  This year's theme is Lives Change @ Your Library.

We invite you to discover everything the library has to offer you and enter to win prizes for using our library's resources.

Chapter Chatters

Chapter Chatters (3rd - 5th graders) will play "Mr. Lemoncello's Library Game" this Tuesday, March 11 at 4:45 P.M.

They read Escape from Mr. Lemoncello's Library by Chris Grabenstein and discussed it during our book club meeting last month.  This week, they will play our version of the game; they will interpret clues, locate additional clues in the library, and decipher puzzles to solve the game.

Spring programs

Storytime and Book Clubs continue this spring.

We'll begin by celebrating Dr. Seuss in Book Buddies and Storytime, reading a Magic Tree House book in Bookworms, and reading poetry by Shel Silverstein in Chapter Chatters.




Book Clubs

Book Buddies (for kindergartners through second graders) will meet monthly on Thursdays.  Children will hear a book and participate in related activities and crafts each month.

Bookworms (2nd - 3rd graders) and Chapter Chatters (3rd - 5th graders) will continue to meet monthly on Tuesdays.  Children will read a book in advance of each program and then discuss the book and participate in related activities during the program.

Storytime

Toddler Storytime for two and three year old children is held every other week on Thursday mornings and monthly on Thursday evenings.

Preschool Storytime for three through five year old children is held weekly on Friday mornings and monthly on Tuesday evenings.

Children hear stories, sing, dance, and participate in crafts.  Additional information and registration is here.
