Student Library Card

Milan Public Library now offers a Student Library Card to kindergarten through 12th grade students who attend Milan Area Schools and do not live in our service area.

If you would like your child to receive a Student Library Card, come to the library with your child, your photo ID and proof of current address, and proof of your child's enrollment in Milan Area Schools.

With a Student Library Card, students may check out up to 3 print items (books and magazines) and 1 audiovisual item (DVD, audiobook, or CD).

Additional information about receiving a library card at our library is available here

Youth Internet Policy Change

Milan Public Library’s Board of Trustees has amended the library’s internet use policy. A parent or guardian’s signed permission is no longer required for children and teens to use youth computers with internet access at the library.

The library board and library staff respect parents’ decisions regarding their children’s internet use. We encourage you to discuss your expectations with your children. Your children and the adults who accompany them to the library will be responsible for following your guidelines. Library staff will not restrict use based on age.

The policy change was carefully considered and approved due to many factors including the need for students to use the internet and their Google Drive accounts for school assignments.

Everyone under 18 may only access filtered youth computers.

If you have any questions, please contact us at the library, by email at info@milanlibrary.org, or by calling 734-439-1240.
