Michigan Reads!

Each year, the Library of Michigan selects a picture book by a Michigan author for the Michigan Reads program.  This "one state, one children's book" reinforces the importance of reading to young children and encourages adults to read the selected book to children throughout September and October.

This year's selection is Moose on the Loose by Kathy-Jo Wargin.  We'll read about the adventures one child has when a moose visits his house.  What would you do if you had a moose on the loose at your house?

We'll read Moose on the Loose, hear related stories, and create craft projects this week at the library during Storytime for preschoolers on Wednesday afternoon and evening and during  Book Buddies for kindergarteners through second graders on Thursday afternoon.  See the links for details or to register for either program.  We hope to see you there for fun with a moose on the loose!
